What is Belagu?
Belagu is a forum for all Kannadigas to organize, share ideas & voice opinions. An online community that will truly represent the diversity, brilliance, intellectual prowess, strength and magic of Karu Naadu.
Why Belagu?
"You are angry, disappointed and disenchanted with caste-driven, ineffectual, corrupt and incompetant politics and governance in Karnataka. I recognize that but what have you done to even attempt to change it?"

Our primary goal is to couple the Power of Information with the Force of Collective Organizing. We will relentlessly track the performance of our elected representatives. Far too often we vote for politicians based NOT on the quality of ideas, past performance or competance but on parochial beliefs of caste, creed, religion and money. WE CREATE VESTED INTERESTS WITH THE WAY WE VOTE. What is worse is that we do not evaluate what our elected representatives achieve for us while they are in office. It is no wonder that even after 60 plus years after our Independence, with democracy at work all the time (save those 18 months), our politicians' biggest election promise is still the same - Water, Electricity, Roads and Jobs.
Belagu is about letting you know how well you are being represented. It is about letting our leaders know what our real needs are. We'll track every project that is launched and every rupee that is spent by our leaders so that come election time we know how well have have been served.
Belagu Karnataka is my ATTEMPT AT CHANGING STATUS QUO. This is a beginning and I hope the citizens of Karnataka will join me in this forum. There is no stronger power than an organized, vigilant and ambitious citizenry. Let us exercise the true power of democracy. Let us make our own future.
